Apply to the M.A. in Public Sociology

Application Materials Required

• Statement of Purpose: A statement of your academic and professional goals including research interests , past related experiences, and reasons you believe our program will support this work. See online resources for samples of statements of purpose for graduate study.
• CV (resume): See online resources for preparing an academic resume (“CV”).
• Letters of Recommendation: You will submit the names and emails of three (3) people who have agreed to write letters of reference for you. The Cal State Apply system will automatically contact those references and provide instructions on uploading a letter. Ideally, at least two references will be from faculty members with whom you recently took one or more classes.
• GPA Requirement: Minimum 3.0 GPA from your last institution is required by The Department of Sociology
• No GRE Required
• Transcripts: Request transcript from every college or university you have attended to be sent to Admissions at Cal Poly Humboldt.
• General Application Form and Fee: Cal State Apply (general CSU application for all campuses). Note that your application will require an Application Fee. If this fee is a barrier, please refer to Cal State Apply for possible fee waivers.
